Fuel Log Bonus:
If you have a fuel supply of 7 gallons or more, keep your receipts and keep a fuel log and I'll give you 500 points
If you have a fuel supply of less than 7 gallons, keep your receipts and I'll give you 500 points.
If any of the receipts show you put 7 gallons or more into your bike, you need to keep a log.
Base Route:
I've chosen three parks you must visit. Each is worth 600 points, butt for each park you miss, there is a penalty of 1/3 of your total points. Ouch.
The parks:
Peninsula State Park, Wisconsin:
In beautiful Door County, between Sturgeon Bay and Ephraim. Get a photo of the lighthouse.
Straits State Park, Michigan:
In St. Ignace, MI. Go about ½ mile east of Interstate 75 on Wisconsin 2. Go south about ½ mile and take a photo of the entrance sign.
Custer State Park:
About three miles north of Interstate 94. Take the Columbia Avenue exit and go west on Old Climax Road to 46th street, then head north. Get a photo of the entrance sign.

Beverly Lawn Park
I grew up near this park. It's in Oak Lawn, IL at the corner of 99th Street and Kostner, ½ mile east of Illinois 50 (Cicero Avenue) and ½ mile south of US 12/20 (95th Street)

Bitter End
Nelson Hall is on Washington Island, right up Main Road. Take a photo of the Wisconsin Route 42 sign that says "Bitter End". Note that the ferries to Washington Island run every hour on the hour from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM to the island, and 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM from the island. It is a 30 minute trip each way.

Blaney Park
OK, it's not "Blarney" Park. This is what happens when you're VERY TIRED and setting up bonus locations. It's in the Upper Peninsula, about ½ mile north of Michigan 2 on route 27.

Bong State Recreation Area
This one is for Mark "Onethumb" Johnson, president of the GWORRA (Gold Wing Off Road Riders Association). Bong State Recreation Area is about 9 ½ miles west of Interstate 94 on Wisconsin route 142. Ride in to the ATV / Dirt Bike loading/unloading area and get a photo of the trail rules.

Chicago Zoological Park
This is in Brookfield, IL, at the corner of Golfview and 31st Street, about ¼ mile west of Illinois 171. Get a photo of the main gate with the sign "Chicago Zoological Park". Trees might obscure the sign. That's OK.

Edmund Haeger Park Area
Heading north from interstate 290 on Interstate 90, you may see this park area to your right. This is an easy bonus if you spot it.

Go north of Menominee WI on Wisconsin 35. Henes Park Road is on the east. Take a photo of the fountain.

Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore
About 4 miles west of Indiana 249 on US 12. Get a photo of the entrance sign. DO NOT GET THIS CONFUSED WITH THE STATE PARK.

Near Indiana 49 and US 12. Get a photo of the entrance sign. DO NOT GET THIS CONFUSED WITH THE NATIONAL LAKESHORE.

Mountain park and Tower, Wisconsin
On Washington Island (see Bitter End bonus). About 2 miles west of Main Road and ½ mile south of Jackson Harbor Road. Clmb the stairs to the top of the "mountain". Walk up the trail. Climb another 64 stairs to the top of the tower. Catch your breath. Take a photo to the northeast. The island you see is Rock Island.

Natural Bridge State Park
Near Prairie Du Sac, take county road C west about 10 miles from US 12. Hike uphill a bit and take a photo of the natural bridge.

Portage National Monument
I'm told this is a valid National Parks tour location (although you must obtain the stamp at the "Little Red Schoolhouse" some miles away). They close the gates at dusk, butt you can still get a photo of the monument through the gates. It's in Forest View Illinois, on the west side of Illinois 43 (Harlem Avenue) just north of Interstate 55.

Rock Cut State Park
Just north of Rockford is a state park called "Rock Cut State Park". At the gate, ask about the "island". Find it and get a photo.

Rock Island State Park, Wisconsin
If you're already on Washington Island, why not visit Rock Island? Ride to the Northeast corner of the island, park your bike, and get on the passenger-only Karfi ferry to Rock Island. They run every half hour and it's a 15 minute trip. With luck, you can get off the boat, run up the hill, take a picture of the gateway-style entrance to Rock Island State Park (complete with a rock in front of it), run back down, and catch the ferry back.

Schoolhouse Beach
This is also on Washington Island (See Bitter End Bonus). Ride north to Jackson Harbor Road, then west to about ½ mile. Head north (the road to the beach is marked) and take a photo of the park bench.

Scoville Park
In Oak Park, my own home town, there's a veteran's memorial in Scoville Park. The park is about ½ mile east of Illinois 43 on Lake Street. The monument is toward the north side of the park.

St Croix National Scenic Riverway Visitor's Center
In St. Croix Falls, WI on Massachusetts Avenue, about a block west of Wisconsin 87. Get a photo of the rock in the spring at the visitor's center.

In your own element
At Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry, there is a rather unique sculpture of the periodic table of the elements. The museum, at Lake Shore Drive (US 41) and 57th Street, is open 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. As you enter from the main entrance, go straight back and to the right into the "green" staircase. Get a photo of your rally flag next to the matching element in the sculpture.
